Mill River Communities

Towns

The Mill River Watershed includes large portions of Conway, Deerfield, Hatfield, and Whately and also drains a small section of Northampton and Williamsburg. The towns are a mix of valley bottom farms and wetland along the Connecticut River, and forested hills on the eastern slope ofthe Berkshires. These communties contain small populations of people dispersed throughout the watershed and concentrated in village centers.

Within these towns, cool clear streams, large tracts of forestland, rare mussels, moose, bear, and bobcat co-exist with homes, schools, businesses, farms, reservoirs, cemetaries, and historic sites.
